The Law of the Heavenly Government

Dear friends, can you tell me the name of a country where there is no law. If you want to go and live in a new country and do not obey the law of that country, will you be allowed to go to that country? Never. Same way if you want to go to the Holy City New Jerusalem and live there, then you have to obey the 'Law of Heavenly Government,' The law of God, The Ten Commandments.

The law of the Lord is perfect, reviving the soul. The statutes of the Lord are trustworthy, making wise the simple. The precepts of the Lord are right, giving joy to the heart. The commands of the Lord are radiant, giving light to the eyes. (Psalm 19:7-8)
God’s law had existed from all eternity. Long before Sinai, or even before Adam and Eve, the eternal, unchangeable standard of right had been the basis of God’s heavenly government.

The Psalmist wrote: The works of His hands are verity and judgment; all his commandments are sure. They stand fast forever and ever, and are done in truth and uprightness. (Psalm 111:7-8)

In fact, even the angels were governed by the Ten Commandments of God.
This has written, “With those keep his covenant and remember to obey his precepts. The Lord has established his throne in heaven and his kingdom rules over all. Praise the Lord, you his angels, you mighty ones who his binding, who obey his word. Praise the Lord, all his heavenly hosts, you his servants who do his will.” (Psalm 103:18-21)
His laws are like stoplights and speed limit signs-all planned for our safety and well-being. But we have given the choice of either following God’s law or ignoring it and rebelling against it.

Satan and his angels chose to “do their own thing”-to make their own rules. And he broke the first commandment of Creator God. “You shall have no other God before Me.” He said, “I will ascend to heaven; I will raise my throne above the stars of God: I will sit enthroned on the mount of assembly, on utmost height of the sacred mountain. I will ascend above the tops of the cloud: I will make myself like the Most High. (Isaiah 14:13-14) This rebellion led to their expulsion from heaven.

It is written in the Bible: And war broke out in heaven: Michael and His angles fought against the dragon: and the dragon and his angles fought, but they did not prevail, nor was a place found for them in heaven any longer. So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world: he was cast to the earth, and his angles were cast out with him. (Revelation 12:7-9)

Our first parent did the same mistake and led to their expulsion from Garden of Eden. They broke eighth and tenth commandments of God: “You shall not steal.” “You shall not covet.” (Exodus 20:15, 17)

What do you think? They were lack something?

No, God has given authority over all planet earth and have authority to use every tree of the Garden of Eden including the Tree of Life. He kept only one tree under His authority. (Genesis 1:28) And Lord God commanded the man, saying, “Of every tree of the garden you freely eat: but of the tree of knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat.” (Genesis 2:16-17)

But what happen next?
So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her and he ate. (Genesis 3:6) She said, “Was the fruit of the  tree of knowledge good for food?” then what was the problem with the Tree of Life? They have freedom to eat freely of the Tree of Life.

They broke the commandments. They coveted and then stole. So He drove out the man; and He placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life. (Genesis 3:24)

Their one mistake brought terrible problems among all human races. It has written: Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned. (Roman 5:12)

But here is the good news: For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. (Roman 6:23) God demonstrate His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. (Roman 5:8) This is how God showed his love among us. He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. (1 John 4:9-10) He has delivered us from the power of darkness, and translated into the kingdom of the Son of His love; in whom we have redemption through His blood; the forgiveness of sins. (Colossians 1:13-14)

He given us one more chance to restore our relation with God and enter the Holy City New Jerusalem. Jesus said, If you obey my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have obeyed my Father’s commands and remain in his love. Behold, I am coming quickly; and My reward is with Me, to give everyone according to his work. Blessed are those who do His commandments that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gat in to the city. (John 15:10, Revelation 22:12, 14)

Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil. (Ecclesiastes 12:13-14) For the Lord is our Judge, the Lord is our law giver, the Lord is our king; it is he who will save us. (Isaiah 33:22)
